The Group Stage of the 2023/24 Champions League is now over, with all the teams confirmed for the Round of 16 draw. The second night of Round 6 fixtures came with their own set of surprises, as Belgian side Antwerp stunned Barcelona to win 3-2 at home.

On the other hand, PSG qualified for the Round of 16 from the Group of Death alongside Borussia Dortmund, with Milan defeating Newcastle United 2-1 to help them in the process. The Rossoneri made it to the Europa League playoffs while Newcastle United finished dead last to exit European competitions altogether.

Champions League – Porto vs Shakhtar, Via X
  • Red Star Belgrade 2-3 Manchester City
  • RB Leipzig 2-1 BSC Young Boys
  • Antwerp 3-2 Barcelona
  • Borussia Dortmund 1-1 PSG
  • Newcastle United 1-2 AC Milan
  • Atletico Madrid 2-0 Lazio
  • Celtic 2-1 Feyenoord
  • FC Porto 5-3 Shakhtar Donetsk

Manchester City fielded a rotated squad, minus Erling Haaland, who is nursing a foot injury. In his place, Micah Hamilton started up front for his Champions League debut, and found the back of the net as well. A 3-2 thriller was to follow, with Kalvin Phillips scoring a penalty to guide his side to a win that helped them qualify for the Round of 16 with a 100% record.

Later on in the night, AC Milan pulled off a second half comeback against Newcastle United to finish third in their group. The Rossoneri went behind courtesy of a goal from Joelinton. But, Christian Pulisic helped them get back on level terms near the hour-mark. A late goal from Samuel Chukwueze helped them earn all three points at St James’ Park as the Magpies finished last in their group.

But the most goals scored in the night were between Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk. Both teams were fighting for a place in the Round of 16, and a brilliant performance from Wenderson Galeno helped Porto finish second in their group after scoring five and conceding three.
