Cesc Fabregas has become the new first team head coach of Como, signing a four-year deal with the club. The former Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder served as an assistant last year to Osian Roberts as the team finished second in Serie B.
Prior to his role as an assistant, he was the interim head coach for the team, but was unable to transition to a full-time role due to licensing issues. Now, he is all set to be the man in charge and will be the one to oversee tactics for the newly promoted team.

He’s just signed a 4 year contract with the club. He was previously on the coaching staff but didn’t have his license to be the head coach.

Interestingly, Fabregas is a minority shareholder of Como, the club where he ended his playing career, alongside Thierry Henry. Former head coach Osian Roberts will now become the Head of Development, while Fabregas manages the first team.
Given how tactically sound Cesc Fabregas was as a player, it’ll be interesting to see his career as a manager. Como have a promising project in place as well, having already recruited Andrea Belotti and Alberto Moreno.
They are also set to close the signing of Raphael Varane in the coming days to fortify their defence. And in doing so, they will be a team to look out for as the new season starts in a month’s time.
How many years did Fabregas play for Barcelona?
3 years between 2011-14
