Barcelona are in talks with Chelsea over their club captain, Cesar Azpilicueta. The Spaniard will be turning 33 in a few months, and is entering the final chapter of his illustrious career.

As a result, he has been hinting at a return to his home country to finish off his time on the pitch. He has one year remaining on his deal with Chelsea, and will be able to walk out for free if he is not sold this summer. As a result, the Blues will have to make a decision about his future soon.

The defender has agreed personal terms over a move to Camp Nou already. The Spanish side have offered him a two-year deal with the option for another year afterwards. However, they will need to reach an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer to go through.

Alongside Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso is also pushing for a move to Barcelona. However, nothing advanced has been agreed for the left-back as of right now. Chelsea have said that they want to find a replacement for Azpilicueta before they let him leave. But they haven’t been linked with any full-backs as of yet.

The veteran has been at Stamford Bridge for almost a decade, and has won every trophy available with the Blues. As a result, even if he does leave this summer, he will do so as a club legend.
