CES 2021: Netgear's first WiFi 6E router, the Nighthawk RAXE500, unveiled

As CES 2021 proceeds, we continue to bring you regular updates. Netgear, the American networking hardware company, announced their new networking gear named the Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-Band Wi-Fi router at CES 2021.

It will be priced at $599.99. As many offices continue to work from home, we required wireless tech like WiFi 6E. In comparison to WiFi 6, the 6GHz band is added in WiFi 6E. It uses 64-bit 1.8GHz quad-core processor, which helps in video streaming up to 8K. Also, it helps the users who prefer to play games.

As it is a tri-band 6E, it will support your earlier 2.4 and 5 GHz-supported devices as well. Thus, you won’t be forced to change every device. Netgear claims to offer you speed up to 10.8Gbps by unlocking the 6GHz band. “As regulatory bodies around the world open up the 6 GHz band, Wi-Fi 6E networks will provide enabled devices with the breathing room to use large channels even in dense and congested areas with higher average data rates and lower latency.”

The Nighthawk RAXE500 router should be able to provide quick AXE11000 Wi-Fi signals. It will come with five-gigabit ports and two USB 3.0 ports on the backside. With the aid of a compatible DOCSIS 3.1 modem, it can offer multi-gigabit speeds. Netgear talked about a few more of its routers at CES 2021.

The LAX20 and the LM1200 are two of them. The former comes with four-gigabit ports. It is already available in Europe for the customers. The latter is an LTE mobile router. It is supposed to be launch in January 2021 for $150. Netgear has not announced any release date for the Nighthawk RAXE500 Tri-Band Wi-Fi router, but we expect to hit the market by the spring of this year.
