CES 2021: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro now comes in an OLED display

The future seems bright for thin and light computing as Lenovo™ announced on Sunday, its 14-inch Yoga Slim 7i Pro laptop now offers consumers a choice of an LCD or super-vibrant OLED display. The OLED version of the new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro laptop with 14-inch OLED 90Hz panel unveils at the all-digital CES 2021 (11th January-14th January), and similar to its LCD laptop sibling, which was released last summer, it verified as Intel® Evo™. According to Lenovo’s official announcement, the laptop features, “up to the latest 11th Gen Intel® Core™ mobile processors with Intel Iris® Xe graphics, or up to NVIDIA® GeForce® MX450 discrete graphics.”

Lenovo’s commitment to enhance user experience shows in its latest bold inventions and smarter technology like “instant-on when you lift your laptop’s lid, hands-free login, and Intelligent Cooling mode.” Pending further tuning, Lenovo and Intel are targeting verification of this updated laptop design with an OLED panel later in Q2 2021.

Samsung Display produced the OLED panel for the Yoga Slim 7i Pro, which is available with an up to 2.8K (2880 x 1800) OLED display and offers a refresh rate of 90Hz to reduce lag and a taller 16:10 aspect ratio for more screen real estate. In the OLED display, chrominance attributes (called chroma) are boosted by up to 1.25 times the amount provided over LCD, this results in a color frequency that is higher and saturation of black, not to mention an amplified contrast ratio for 667 times more definition over LCD. This smarter combination of display, thin design, and AI works together to create a premium laptop.

Providing a more lifelike HDR experience, the laptop has an impressively wide 100 percent DCI-P3 and 125 percent sRGB color gamut for vivid colors. The contrast between the brightest and darkest parts of an image are also enhanced by HDR.

The laptop features a unique quality where the screen is readable even under direct sunlight. This is made possible due to each individual pixel’s ability to emit its own light so it can be independently brightened, dimmed, and powered off for improved contrast.

The new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro (OLED Version) laptop’s pricing hasn’t been announced yet, it will not be available in North America, but will launch in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific regions later this year.
