Acer have released an updated version of the Helio 300 gaming laptop, with the inclusion of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 3080 grabbing the headlines with the promise of an even smoother gaming experience. The newly updated model will also feature a Core i7 processor, with 32GB of DDR4 2933MHz RAM coupled with 2TB of SSD storage.
There has been no change to the CPU of the Helio 300, but with the graphics being upgraded to a whole new level, it also now steps up to a 240Hz refresh rate for its FHD IPS display.
This panel is also rated for a 3 millisecond (ms) response time (when its LCD Overdrive mode is on). The newly re-launched Helio 300 also comes with speakers that support DTS:X Ultra Audio and “simulated” 3D Surround Sound that promise to be an upgrade on the previous iteration of the gaming laptop.
The Helio 300 will continue to feature the 4th Generation Aeroblade cooling technology that the model previously came with as well. The laptop comes with a 4-Zone RGB keyboard loaded with keycaps for the W,A,S & D keys to the delight of the gaming community.
Moreover, the keyboard also sports an instant overclocking “Turbo” mode alongside a PredatorSense™ key to open the utility app on the computer. Acer also claims to have reduced latency with Killer’s E26001 Ethernet Controller, Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i and Control Center 2.0.
The new Helio 300 is set to be priced at €1499 (~US$1819) and will be available in March 2021.
