CES 2020: The redesigned Dell XPS 13 with Intel 10th-Gen Processors Launched

The year’s most popular show is here in 2020 and Dell is ready to kick-off by upgrading its premium laptop offering. The XPS series has been one of the best laptops Dell has ever made and Dell is always making it better each year.

The new redesigned Dell XPS 13 is just amazing, Dell is now offering a slightly larger 16:10 display with thinner bezels on all sides, it is hard to notice any bezel at one glance. The new XPS 13 9300 is powered by the latest 10th Gen Intel Ice Lake CPUs with powerful Intel Iris graphics.

When compared to its predecessor, the new XPS 13 provides you with a larger display with more brightness and contrast ratio and the size is also smaller than its predecessor. Alongside the standard XPS 13, Dell has also announced a special Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition laptop that runs on the latest build of Ubuntu.

The laptop features a 13.4-inch display with resolution up to UHD+(3,840 x 2,400 pixels) with peak 500 nits of brightness. The display has 1500:1 contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angle, and an insane 91.5% screen-to-body ratio!

Being powered by the latest 10th gen Intel Core processors, you can configure your laptop with Intel Core i3 (1005G1) to all the way up to quad-core Intel Core i7 (1065G7) processor. It is coupled with up to 32GB of LPDDR4X RAM and Intel Iris Plus graphics.

For storage, you get options up to 2TB PCIe (3×4) SSD and this slim laptop is equipped with a huge 52WHr battery that can be juiced up using a 45W AC adapter via a Type-C port. The standard Dell XPS 13 runs on Windows 10 and the Developer Edition runs on Ubuntu 18.04 as Linux is still the most preferred OS for devs.

Also, the Dell XPS 13 features a dual 2.5W stereo speakers with Waves MaxxAudio Pro tuning, along with latest Killer Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 wireless connectivity. The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition has similar specifications to the normal one but lacks a fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the power button on the standard XPS 13.

The keyboard is a lot smaller and there remains lesser space between the keys but last gen’s maglev keyboard has been removed to offer tactile feedback. Also, there’s much more room for the trackpad making the scrolling experience even better.

The Dell XPS 13 can be customized completely by you according to your needs through Dell’s website and the pricing starts from $999.99 (around Rs.72,000) and will be available from January 7 onwards in Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, UK, and the US. It will be available globally from February 2020.

On the other hand, the Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition has a starting price tag of $1,199 (around Rs.86,000) and will be available in Canada, US, and select European countries from February 2020. Overall, the new Dell XPS 13 is a stylish, slim & powerful laptop that is both portable and ideal for working on it all day.
