Xiaomi backed Huami has taken part in the CES 2020 and has launched several new products to expand its portfolio. One of the key products of Amazfit in 2019 was the budget-oriented smartwatch – the Amazfit Bip. Huami has taken the first step by upgrading its popular smartwatch in 2020.
One of the major complaints of the Amazfit Bip was its dull display and at the end of 2019, with the advent of lots of smartwatches, you obviously expect more from Amazfit. So, the new Amazfit Bip S has some major improvements from last-gen and features a new transflective colour display.
The smartwatch features a new 1.28-inch Always On colour transflective display with 176 x 176 resolution. This screen has a 2.5D Corning Gorilla 3 generation tempered glass and anti-fingerprint coating. Huami has also increased the battery life of the watch to 40 days and has managed to make the watch super light, weighing only 31 grams.
The GPS of the watch has got a huge update, now featuring a Sony 28nm low-power GPS chip that allows for GPS+GLONASS dual-mode positioning and improved Satellite searching. With the GPS active, the Amazfit Bip S can only last 20 hours on a single charge.
The watch is water-resistant to 5 ATM and supports 10 sports modes including swim tracking, the continuous heart rate monitoring and PAI Health assessment system provide useful tools to improve your health and workout efficiency. The Amazfit Bip S uses the new BioTracker™ PPG Bio-Tracking Optical Sensor is 98% more accurate than the previous generation.
Now you can control music on your smartphone with the Amazfit Bip S as well and you also get continuous heart rate and resting heart rate monitoring. The new Huami-PAI™ Health Assessment System precisely quantifies your physical state.
Apart from all the necessary features you can take calls from the smartwatch, read messages from the screen directly, alarm clock, weather forecast, and world clock. The Amazfit Bip S comes with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and 2.5-hour charging time.
The strap is quite identical to previous-gen with 20mm strap width and there are 4 colour variants of the smartwatch including Red Orange, Carbon Black, Warm Pink & White Rock. The Amazfit Bip S will go on sale from February for $69.90, $30 cheaper than its predecessor.
