  • WhatsApp Calls: Potential Integration with Google Phone’s Call Log

WhatsApp Calls: Potential Integration with Google Phone’s Call Log

WhatsApp provides convenient communication options, allowing users to connect with loved ones through messages, voice calls, and video calls. Meta, the company, behind WhatsApp has been working on improving the app’s calling functions, such as group calls and scheduling options. However, unlike mobile network calls, WhatsApp calls do not show up in the Phone app call log. There are signs that this might change soon.

    WhatsApp Calls

WhatsApp Calls on Google Dialer Log

Reports suggest that WhatsApp is looking into combining its call list with the Google Phone app call log. A user on X first noticed this integration. Although details are scarce a leaked screenshot indicates that WhatsApp calls could be tagged as “WhatsApp” in the call log. This labeling would make it easier for users to distinguish between WhatsApp VoIP calls and regular phone calls.

To access this feature users may need to be using the beta version of the Google Phone app and wait for an update from Google’s servers. If WhatsApp VoIP calls start showing up in the Phone app call log this integration could potentially expand to calling apps like Skype, Viber, and Telegram. On iOS devices a similar integration already exists where third-party VoIP calls appear in the Phone app, on iPhones.

Selecting a call from the log lets you start a voice or video call away. For Android users, WhatsApp call records can only be viewed in the app’s “Calls” section at the moment. Connecting with the Google Phone app could simplify how WhatsApp calls are made, which would be helpful, for those who like using this mode of communication.

In addition to call log integration, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a favorites bar feature for the call log, allowing quick access to favorite contacts. This feature is currently in beta testing and may take some time before it becomes available in the stable release of the app.

  • Apple’s 20.3-Inch Foldable MacBook Set for 2027 Production

Apple’s 20.3-Inch Foldable MacBook Set for 2027 Production

Apple is said to be exploring the creation of types of gadgets such, as a clamshell-style foldable iPhone, a foldable iPad, and another undisclosed device with a larger screen. However recent reports suggest that the tech giant’s first venture into foldables could be a MacBook. Ming-Chi Kuo, a known Apple analyst revealed that Apple is actively developing a MacBook which might signal a departure from previous rumors about a foldable phone.

    Apple

The Upcoming Apple 20.3-Inch Foldable MacBook

In his update on the subject Kuo mentioned that the foldable MacBook is currently the foldable product with a clearly defined development plan. This information shifts the expected timelines for the launch of the rumored iPhone and iPad. Kuo mentioned that the foldable Mac is expected to feature a 20.3-inch display and could potentially start production by 2027.

This new information indicates that Apple’s lineup of devices may still be years away from hitting store shelves. In comparison, competitors like Samsung have already introduced iterations of their foldable phones while Google has also joined the market with its Pixel Fold device.

Specific details about the rumored MacBook are scarce at this time including how Apple plans to incorporate folding technology given the laptop’s natural design features. The company has not confirmed any plans, for releasing a product yet. The company just released MacBook Air versions, with their M3 processors.

There was a mention in a report about Apple working on a device bigger, than an iPhone, which matches Kuo’s claim about a foldable Mac. This large foldable screen could possibly be designed as either a laptop or a tablet.

In another development, there were reports last month suggesting that the tech giant had encountered challenges with the folding display, leading to a pause in the development of a foldable phone. Nonetheless, rumors persist about Apple’s exploration of both clamshell-style foldable phones and foldable iPads, although these devices are reportedly still in the early stages of development.

Tata Motors Share Price Target: PV or CV – Which Investment Path Should You Choose?

Nomura India stated on Tuesday that the separation of Tata Motors Ltd (TTMT) into commercial vehicle (CV) and passenger vehicle (PV) divisions is not likely to immediately alter the valuation approach of investors. This is attributed to the well-managed operations and transparency in India CVs, JLR, and PVs.

    Tata Motors

More About Tata Motors Share Price

Nomura expects that in the future each department will have the freedom to pursue its strategies independently. Looking closely at Tata Motors PV segment Nomura sees potential, for value growth in the years. The PV business has seen changes since 2020 with its market share rising from single digits to 13.5% as of 9MFY24. This improvement is attributed to its focus on safety, attractive design, and feature-rich vehicles. Nomura previously predicted that Tata Motors would have two models among the three SUVs in India.

Moreover, Nomura mentioned Tata Motors’ goal of becoming the player in India’s PV market by FY25 26F. While Hyundai Motor India is considering an IPO in India valued between $22 and $28 billion and enjoys margins Nomura maintained a target price of ₹1,057 for Tata Motors.

Nomura also highlighted Tata Motors’ significant role in advancing EV adoption in India with over 70% market share. Tata Motors plans to introduce 10 EV models by FY26 and aims for half of its sales to come from EVs by 2030. Achieving these goals could greatly boost the company’s value.

Tata Motors’ profit margins, for its passenger vehicle segment, are currently at 6.5% while the margins for internal combustion engine vehicles have risen to 9.4% in the quarter of the year 2024. The negative profit margins for vehicles, which were at 8.2% in Q3 have had an impact on the overall profitability.

Nomura expects that the profitability of vehicles will improve over time mostly due to expenses related to product development causing losses. Moreover, it foresees an increase in the valuation of the commercial vehicle business due to enhancements, in market share and profitability. Nomura also suggests potential upside from success in e-buses and e-LCVs.

The demerger will be executed through the NCLT scheme of arrangement, ensuring identical shareholding for all existing Tata Motors shareholders in both listed entities. Expected to take 12-15 months, the demerger follows the earlier subsidiarization of PV and EV businesses in 2022. Management foresees synergies across PV, EV, and JLR, especially in EVs, autonomous vehicles, and vehicle software, promising enhanced value for stakeholders. The demerger plan will be presented to the TTMT Board of Directors for approval and will be subject to various shareholder, creditor, and regulatory approvals.
