Tyrell Malacia and Casemiro have been included in Manchester United’s squad for the UEFA Europa League, indicating their presence in the squad for the coming season.

Casemiro recently had a poor outing against Liverpool, which caused him to be substituted early by Erik Ten Hag in the 3-0 defeat at home. The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, but is expected to stay at United till 2025.

While the Brazilian has been relatively fit and available for selection regularly, Tyrell Malacia has had a very difficult time. Erik Ten Hag’s first signing at Manchester United missed all of last season due to a serious knee injury.

He last played competitive football in May 2023, and could be back after over a year on the sidelines. The left-back was brought in to replace Erik Ten Hag, but has instead joined him on the injury list.

But with his inclusion in the Europa League squad, he could be nearing a return to the first team in October. It remains to be seen how things turn out for the Dutch defender once he gets back to first team football upon his return from injury.

Which other midfielder has United signed this summer?

Manuel Ugarte from PSG
