No club on the face of the earth is exempt from the struggles of dealing with injuries in the modern game of football. And despite Real Madrid being the biggest club in the world, they too, have to deal with such problems from time to time.
Dani Carvajal becomes the latest to join the treatment room with the club addressing the issue as a problem in his right thigh, affecting his tendon of the leg in the process.
Here is what Zidane had to say regarding the re-injured Carvajal:
‘I’m sorry for Carva. He played 25 minutes very well and I’m upset because he’s very important to us.
‘But I can’t explain the reasoning [behind the injury problems] to you. As a coach, having injuries is the worst. They’ve come back to hurt us again.
‘I only hope that [Carvajal’s injury] is a small one. We’ll see what the injury is and for how long he’ll be out for.’
Carvajal’s injury 25 minutes into the game against Valencia brought about a substitution that saw Lucas Vasquez take his place in a return from injury. The Spaniard now joins a lengthy injury list at the club that includes the likes of Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Eder Militao, Marcelo, Fede Valverde and Rodrygo.
The right-back is set to miss Real’s Champions League fixture against Atalanta and is also set to be out for the league fixture against Real Valladolid. The timeline placed around his return is in a month.
