Portland Trail Blazers’ Carmelo Anthony, playing the 18th season of his career, achieved a milestone that not many players are able to. On Friday, he scored his 26,498th point to pass Tim Duncan for the 14th spot on the NBA’s all-find scoring list.

Anthony was able to score 18 points for the Portland Trail Blazers, helping them in a lopsided win against the Golden State Warriors. Jusuf Nurkic hit him in the corner for a three-pointer that may have not affected the result of the match, but it did get him past Duncan in the record of the all-time scoring list.

With this 3-point shoot, Carmelo passes Duncan on the All-Time scoring list.

After the game, Anthony said, “I’m just happy to continue to do what I love to do and be out here still doing it at this stage of my career, at this age, I’m still enjoying the game and having fun with the game, and I still love to play the game and I think it shows out there on the basketball court.” “But for me to surpass Tim Duncan, who we all know how great of a player he was and what he did for this game, I’m still going and still enjoying it,” he commented.

The 10-time All-Star, Anthony has been one of the best all-around scorers in NBA’s history, regardless of where he is playing. He may not be as quick as he once was, but he showed on Friday night that he can still score in various ways, making three of his four three-point attempts.

Anthony will most likely climb a few more spots this season. He is less than 200 points away from No. 13 Dominique Wilkins, less than 300 points away from No. 12 Oscar Robertson and less than 500 points away from No. 11 Hakeem Olajuwon. He could theoretically climb as high as Shaquille O’Neal at No. 8, who has scored 28,596 points in his career
