Carlo Ancelotti has spoken out on rumours of a deadline over his appointment as the head coach of the Brazil national team. The Real Madrid manager has been publicly mentioned as one of the names in the running by CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues.
He has also made mentions of a plan A and plan B and wants to exhaust all of his first options before moving on to the others.
Carlo Ancelotti speaks on Brazil national team future
“I’ve already said that I’m not talking about my future. But, I’ll answer: the deadline is nonsense. There is no deadline because I never… I haven’t talked to anyone,” Carlo Ancelotti explained. The Real Madrid manager has a contract with the club until 2024, and is likely to stay on as the manager next season as well.
“Ancelotti is unanimously respected among the players. Not only Ronaldo Nazario or Vinicius Jr, but everyone who has played for him,” CBF president Rodrigues recently said.
“I really admire him for his honesty in the way he works and how constant his work is. He needs no introduction. He really is a top coach who has several achievements and we hope he can have even more. Ancelotti is not only the players’ favourite, but he also seems to be the fans’ favourite.”
The likes of Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho have also been linked with the job, but a concrete decision is yet to be made about who will succeed Tite.
