Callum Hudson-Odoi is all set to join Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the coming season. The Chelsea winger has been on the lookout for more game time this season, and will be moving out in search of it.
He does not fit into Thomas Tuchel’s system and has been used in a variety of makeshift positions instead. But in order to get regular minutes, the move to Leverkusen has been carefully chosen by the player and his entourage.
Callum Hudson-Odoi to join Bayer Leverkusen soon
The winger will be flying to Germany to complete the move in the coming hours. And his arrival will be confirmed by the club shortly after. The move is a straight loan deal with no option to make the move permanent – which means he will return to Stamford Bridge next summer.
Leverkusen have been building an interesting project for 22/23, with several exciting prospects in their squad. They will be playing Champions League football alongside Atletico Madrid, Porto and Brugge in Group B, and this will give all their players including Callum Hudson-Odoi the chance to develop further.
Chelsea have already announced the departure of Ross Barkley by mutual consent and will also part ways with Ethan Ampadu. The Welshman will be joining Spezia on loan, with total agreement between the two clubs for the transfer.
