Caglar Soyuncu is expected to join Atletico Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season. The Leicester City centre-back is not expected to renew his deal any further, and will be walking out as a free agent.

Other clubs like Aston Villa and Roma were in the race to sign the defender. But, they haven’t been able to convince the player to sign for them as of yet. As of now, Atletico Madrid are advanced in negotiations, and could finalise the agreement very soon.

The Spanish side want to get the deal over the line as soon as possible. Which means that we could receive another update by the time the January transfer window opens. He is expected to play the rest of the season with Leicester City, but will likely leave at the end of the campaign.

The Turkiye international has not been able to hit the same heights as he did a few seasons ago. And his form and injury record has left a lot to be desired in recent months. As a result, a change of scenery could be on the horizon for Caglar Soyuncu, in a matter of months.

Leicester City have been able to turn things around from their dismal start to the season, and will be hoping for better results on the other side of the new year.
