‘Byomkesh O Durgorahosyo, is currently being filmed despite the oppressive summer heat. Dev declared on his social media accounts on Tuesday that the third filming schedule has begun in Jharkhand. Dev will portray Byomkesh in the movie, and Rukmini Maitra will play Satyabati, his wife.
The ‘Byomkesh O Durgorahosyo’ team has finished filming the second schedule in Madhya Pradesh and is now in Jharkhand to begin filming the third schedule. For Dev and his team, this is the last shooting leg.
Dev took to his social media accounts on Tuesday to share an exciting update with fans. He announced that the shooting schedule for the Jharkhand scene has officially kicked off. Dev even gave us a glimpse of the set, sharing a photo of himself seated in a chair.
Despite facing scorching heat in Madhya Pradesh, the dedicated cast and crew are determined to wrap up filming as swiftly as possible. Director Birsa Dasgupta has set an ambitious goal to finish shooting before diving into post-production work, aiming for an August 11 release date for the movie.
Interestingly, the inclusion of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s ‘Durgo Rahasya’ in both a Tollywood film and a web series has sparked a division of opinions. While Dev is gearing up for his debut as the beloved detective Byomkesh Bakshi, director Srijit Mukherji is also working on a web series adaptation of the same story, featuring Anirban Bhattacharya as the iconic sleuth and reportedly Sohini Sarkar as Satyabati.

On the other hand, Dev’s ‘Byomkesh O Durgorahosyo also has an impressive cast, with Rukmini Maitra as Satyabati and Ambarish Bhattacharya as Byomkesh’s companion Ajit. Apart from these three lead actors, Satyam Bhattacharya will be seen as Manilal and Debesh Chattopadhyay in a critical role.
Dev is unquestionably filled with enthusiasm about his inaugural Byomkesh movie, but a significant portion of his fan community expresses dissatisfaction with the actor’s decision to continue with the detective genre. The film’s announcement triggered a flurry of trolling on social media, including from individuals within the entertainment industry.
Dev has three major films in his upcoming lineup. One of them is the Byomkesh film, while the other two are the Bagha Jatin biopic and ‘Pradhan.’ The Bagha Jatin biopic, directed by Arun Roy, is scheduled to be released during Durga Puja. Avijit Sen’s film ‘Pradhan’ is set for a Christmas release.
