Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya Release Date, Plot, Cast, and Expectations
The versatile actor of Tollywood Deepak Adhikari or Dev is ready for a new challenge. This time he is going to play the most touchy and nostalgic character Byomkesh. This is the first time the commercial king will appear in this role.
At first, there was a controversy as to who will play the role of Ajit. The confusion has now cleared as talented Ambarish Bhattacharya will play Ajit in Birsa Dasgupta’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya, with Dev’s Byomkesh and Rukmini Maitra will appear in the role of Satyabati. The story of the film has been adapted from Sharadindu Bandopadhyay’s novel.
Dev has dropped a photo from the shooting floor. In this image, you will see that Byomkesh and Ajit were standing in the light and shade beside the window. As usual the detective Byomkesh was reading a book. Dev explained the photo as, “On the auspicious occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, here’s a sneak peek of your beloved Ajit and Byomkesh. If everything goes according to plan, then we hope to see you in theatres on August 11, 2023.”
In January Dev become headlines when he announced that he would be portraying the iconic detective character. However, this revelation was met with significant trolling, even from within the industry itself. Speculation surrounding the casting of Satyabati, Byomkesh’s trusted companion, had been rife. After careful consideration, it was finally confirmed that Dev’s girlfriend, Rukmini Maitra, would take on the role.
To further build anticipation, Dev unveiled the first look poster of the film last month. The production of the movie will be a collaborative effort between Dev Entertainment Ventures and Shadow Films, promising a compelling cinematic experience.
Bengali cinema enthusiasts have been treated to various interpretations of Byomkesh in the past, portrayed by notable actors like Uttam Kumar, Jisshu U Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Sujay Ghosh, and Anirban Bhattacharya. In addition to his role as Byomkesh, Dev will also be portraying Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay, also known as Bagha Jatin, a patriotic figure, in the film Bagha Jatin, directed by Arun Roy. Scheduled for release during the festive season of Durga Puja, this venture promises to captivate audiences with its historical backdrop and compelling narrative.
