Borussia Dortmund are now leading the race for the Bundesliga title, after Bayern Munich were defeated 3-1 at home by RB Leipzig. The black and yellow club defeated 10-man Augsburg 3-0 with Sebastian Haller scoring a brace alongside a late goal for Julian Brandt.

As a result, they now stand two points clear of their rivals, with only one more game to go in the season. Bayern have won the league title for ten years straight, and their decade of dominance could finally be ended by Dortmund if they can at least draw in their final game.

Borussia Dortmund in command of Bundesliga title race after Bayern slip up

Although Bayern Munich drew a few games at the start of the year, they still managed to steer themselves in the right direction. But, the arrival of Thomas Tuchel has seemingly turned things around for worse.

Die Roten could be set for an unthinkable trophyless season, as they are out of every competition. Moreover, their hopes in the Bundesliga title race are also fading fast.

Bayern face Koln on their final day while Dortmund are up against Mainz. If Edin Terzic can guide his team to a win, then they will win the title regardless of the result in the other game. However, Bayern will need to pick up all three points and depend on the result of the Dortmund game to salvage the Bundesliga title.

But given the form that Borussia Dortmund have shown in the final stage of the season, it seems very likely that they will win the title on the final day of the season.
