BTS’s V Announces Winter Ahead Duet with Park Hyo Shin, Out in November

V reportedly invited his longtime friend Park Hyo Shin to join him on this duet. BigHit Music said V personally extended the invitation. The song was written by Jesse Harris, who also wrote the Norah Jones standard, the jazz-pop smash Don’t Know Why. Continuing his exploration of various sounds since the release of deeply personal records in Layover and FRI(END)S, this release is one of many noteworthy collaborations V also recently made waves with, including a modern interpretation of the classic, White Christmas, with Bing Crosby.

Produced by Grammy-winning producer Gregg Field, the song combines V’s signature vocals with a newly restored recording of Crosby’s classic performance. Winter Ahead and White Christmas are both projects that showcase the evolving identity of V as an artist. With a signature soulful voice and a magnetic stage presence, V’s work is among the most loved acts across the world. His deep, velvety vocals and storytelling ability have earned him wide acclaim, with singles such as Sweet Night and Love Me Again incorporating elements of soul, jazz, and pop.

V released his six-track EP, Layover, in September 2023, just prior to his military service; it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, underscoring his success as a solo artist. Currently, V is serving in the military alongside his bandmates RM, Jimin, SUGA, and Jung Kook, with BTS expected to return as a full group in late 2025.
