This follows the tragic Jeju Air accident which killed 179. The December 29 incident has sparked national mourning throughout South Korea, with people from all walks of life grieving for friends and family members lost in the disaster. In response to the national tragedy, many events in the entertainment industry have been canceled or delayed, from year-end awards shows and film premieres to music marketing. BTS, one of the world’s most popular K-pop boy bands, expressed their condolences by halting their scheduled content releases for the week.
