BSNL users or those considering a switch have some good news! The state-run telecom has made its 4G network available across more than 65,000 sites, and users in these areas can now benefit from better signal strength, enhanced network coverage, and faster data rates.

This rollout is part of a wider plan by BSNL to set up 100,000 4G sites by the middle of 2025, making it a significant milestone for the company. But the expansion comes at a time when BSNL has reportedly lost over 300,000 subscribers, according to the latest TRAI data for November.

BSNL Expands 4G Network with 65,000+ Towers Across India, Launches IFTV Service in Multiple States

As per many BSNL users, the network expansion hasn’t solved issues like call drops, disconnections, and poor connectivity. BSNL officials have acknowledged these complaints and have committed to resolving the problems by February this year, which has reassured some users. BSNL is not far behind when it comes to digital entertainment either, having recently launched Internet Fiber TV (IFTV) service in Rajasthan.

BSNL has already tested the service in Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and has recently expanded to Punjab, Chandigarh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Along with Bharat Fiber, users can also claim the IFTV service which is India’s first internet TV on fiber, with more than 500 live TV channels at no extra charge for BSNL customers. The initiative aims to provide customers uninterrupted TV viewing experience.

In telecom industry-related news, Airtel, Jio, and Vi have launched new recharge plans limited to voice and SMS. Such plans are aimed at users who don’t require mobile data but had no other option before but to purchase data bundles because there were no recharge options for voice and SMS only. The new plans cater to the needs of users who prefer voice communication and messaging over regular data.
