BSNL launches new INR 599 plan to counter Jio & Airtel

Airtel and Reliance Jio leads the telecom market of India and is very active in terms of launching internet packs. No other company seems to be coming close in terms of giving the two giants a tough competition. However, BSNL has now launched a new fibre plan for Rs. 599. Airtel’s Xstream Fiber plan is of Rs. 499, and is expected to receive tough competition from BSNL.

According to the plan, BSNL is providing 60 Mbps speed up to 3300GB data. Along with this, the company is also offering unlimited calling.

According to sources, the 60 Mbps speed will be reduced to 2 Mbps after the data expires. But, there is no data limit at 2Mbps speed, which means users can download and upload anything without any worry about data usage.

Sources claim that the company will make the plan available from November 14, 2020. The new plan sits right between Jio’s Rs. 699 and Rs. 499 internet plans. The new plan of BSNL is not offering OTT benefits.

On the other hand, JioFiber’s Rs. 399 plan offers 30 Mbps speed, unlimited calling, and without any OTT subscription. Airtel’s plan of Rs. 499, however, offers unlimited calling, internet data up to 3300GB, and speed up to 40 Mbps. It also offers Wynk Music along with courses from Shaw Academy.

All the plans are attractive and are offering many services. But the new plan of BSNL does not seem to offer any extra benefits over its competitors. It might attract some users, but it in no way would increase the customer base of BSNL. The company needs to think its strategies more seriously.
