Arsenal’s midfield rebuild has claimed its biggest prize yet. The Premier League champions have agreed a £75 million fee with Newcastle United for captain Bruno Guimarães, with the Brazilian now given permission to travel for a medical ahead of a move to north London.

## How the Deal Came Together

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, personal terms with Guimarães had been in place since July, though negotiations dragged for weeks as Newcastle held firm on their valuation before finally accepting the exit. Sky Sports reports Newcastle were determined to avoid a repeat of the Alexander Isak saga from the previous summer, ensuring Guimarães complied fully with the club’s process rather than forcing an exit.
