Bruno Fernandes is set to extend his contract with Manchester United very soon. The player joined Sporting CP in January for a five-and-a-half-year deal and made an instant impact after joining the team.

As a result, he will be rewarded for his contributions to the first team with an improved salary. The new deal which will be signed in the coming days or weeks will potentially run until 2027.

Discussions between the player’s agent and the club opened last July. And now, the two parties only need to iron out the final details before confirming the new contract for the midfielder.

Bruno Fernandes has always maintained that he is very happy at Manchester United, and he has remained fully professional with the club throughout his time. The Portugal international will be one of the key players in the squad regardless of whoever takes charge in the summer, and whether or not Champions League football is earned.

Ajax’s Erik Ten Hag was interviewed by Manchester United this week. The Dutchman has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and the initial movements to bring him over have already started. But, United will consider other options as well before making their final decision.
