SC East Bengal’s newest addition Bright Enobakhare has proved his worth again today against FC Goa as the Red and Golds drew the game by 1-1.

It was the first start for the Nigerian striker Bright Enobakhare. In the last game against Odisha FC, he came on as a sub and scored his debut goal. Today he was in the starting XI and he was excellent from the very first minute of the game.

In the 56th minute of the game, SC East Bengal captain Danny Fox was sent off. The 10 men SC East Bengal scored in the 79th minute. Bright Enobakhare scored a wonderful solo goal by dribbling past the whole FC Goa defense.

But the lead did not stay so long as FC Goa’s Devendra Murgaonkar scored the equalizer in the 81st minute of the game. The match ended up in a 1-1 draw.

After the match, SC East Bengal coach Robbie Fowler said, “Delighted, I think we did well. But every game we are up against the referee. And we have to live with that. Two players went for the ball, he (Daniel Fox) won the ball. I don’t know why he was sent off. I hope it’s only a one-game ban. The attitude, intention, and desire were brilliant from the team after being reduced to 10. We looked dangerous during set-pieces. Our boys deserve a lot of credit. Goa is a very good team. They were dragging our players to all parts of the park at times. Obviously, I’m delighted with the point.”

“(Anthony) Pilkington had a knock and that’s why he was rested. Hopefully, he’ll be ready for the next game. (Jacques) Maghoma had a small problem too but he was eager to go on from the bench and provided the assist. We are improving with each passing match.”

SC East Bengal is now 9th in the table with 7 points from the first 9 games. They will face Bengaluru FC on the 9th of January in their next game.
