## The Book Behind It

Unlike *Queen Charlotte*, which was an original story, this prequel has source material. *Violet in Bloom* is a roughly 50-page novella from Quinn’s *The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After*. It’s not clear whether Netflix will adapt it directly, and the TV franchise has already diverged. In *Queen Charlotte*, Lord Ledger has an affair with a young Lady Danbury, and he is portrayed more warmly than in the novella.
