ATK Mohun Bagan have confirmed the signing of Brendan Hamill from Melbourne Victory. He has signed a two-year contract with the ISL side, and is expected to be the replacement for Tiri who suffered a long-term injury at the 2022 AFC Cup.

The Australian finished second in the A-League with Melbourne Victory this past season, and has won the AFC Champions League with Western Sydney Warriors in 2013/14. As a result, he will be a valuable addition to the team given their ambitions for the future.

ATK Mohun Bagan sign Brendan Hamill

Here is what the 29-year-old had to say about his move to India: “The information which I have received about Indian football states ATK Mohun Bagan to be a historic club. The legacy of the Green & Maroon jersey has enriched the sport in the country. Although I had offers from other clubs, this was what compelled me to join the club.”

“My aim is to win trophies for ATK Mohun Bagan and make them successful. I have heard about the popularity and craze of football in Kolkata. This club has millions of supporters. My ambition will be to make the Mariners happy.”

A talented centre-back like Brendan Hamill is exactly what Juan Ferrando needs in his team, and with the foundation of the team built, there is work to be done on the attacking front. Roy Krishna and David Williams have both left the club and need to be replaced ahead of the new season.
