Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos becomes the latest player to test positive for COVID-19. The Spanish international was already out injured during the last international break and could not take part in Real Madrid’s biggest week, facing Barcelona in-between UEFA Champions League quarter-final two legs with Liverpool.
Real Madrid published an official statement stating: “Real Madrid C. F. informs that our player, Sergio Ramos, has tested positive in the last COVID-19 test that he has taken.”
Sergio Ramos joins Raphael Varane on the list of COVID-19 positive. He won’t be allowed to enter the premises until he tests negative. Till then he will have to self-isolate.
Real Madrid will definitely miss their captain and his contract also expires this summer which is yet to be extended. The contract situation is a bit complicated but Zidane wants to keep Ramos so hopefully we will se Ramos captaining Real Madrid in the next season as well.
