This past season, Yan Couto played 34 LaLiga games and scored one goal while providing an eye-catching 10 assists. The 22-year-old has also been called up to the Brazil national team, and has made four appearances for the Selecao so far.
Couto’s contract with City expires in 2026, and with Rico Lewis also at the club, it seems unlikely that he will have a lot of minutes if he ends up staying anyway.
The Brazilian has spent a total of three years on loan at Girona across two spells. And now, he is set to leave the City Football Group fold, provided Dortmund can get the deal over the line to reinforce their defence.
