### Team News & Probable Lineups

HEBC Hamburg go into this tie with a full squad and nothing to lose, giving their part-time players the chance of a lifetime against a European heavyweight. Dortmund, by contrast, arrive with a few selection headaches — Niko Kovač will be without Ramy Bensebaini (rib injury), Carney Chukwuemeka (muscle injury), Nico Schlotterbeck (out until mid-September), and long-term absentee Emre Can, who isn’t expected back until mid-November. Expect Kovač to rotate heavily and rest key starters ahead of the weekend’s league fixture. [fotmob](https://www.fotmob.com/matches/borussia-dortmund-vs-hebc-hamburg/5tyvltb7)

### Prediction

On paper, this is a formality. Dortmund’s squad depth alone should be enough to see off lower-league opposition, even with a shuffled XI. Expect a comfortable away win, likely in the 4-0 to 6-0 range, with HEBC Hamburg’s players more focused on enjoying the occasion than troubling the scoreboard. Cup shocks do happen, though, and a spirited HEBC could make the opening period nervy for a rotated Dortmund back line.
