Borussia Dortmund are working to finalise the transfer of Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg this summer. The German striker has been in red-hot form this season, which has sparked the interest of the Black and Yellow club to pursue him.
He will be the replacement for Erling Haaland in the summer, who has reportedly accepted a £500,000 per week contract from Manchester City. Haaland has a €75 million release clause in his contract which becomes valid this summer, and in all likelihood, he will be on his way out of Dortmund in the summer. So, Adeyemi will be a direct replacement for the Norwegian.
Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi transfer in closing stages
The 20-year-old has scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists across 39 appearances in all competitions this season. He has reached an agreement on personal terms with Borussia Dortmund over a transfer at the end of the season as well. All that remains now is for the two clubs to reach an agreement on the transfer fees.
Borussia Dortmund are also in pursuit of Nico Schlotterbeck from Freiburg. The central defender has enjoyed a remarkable season with the team, scoring four goals as well. He also earned his Germany national team debut on the back of his performances in March 2022.
While the player denies any agreement with Dortmund yet, there are strong chances of him making the move. If he does, he would be the second big defensive signing for Dortmund in the summer alongside Niklas Sule from rivals Bayern Munich.
