Earlier this year, the sequel to the 1997 film Border was announced, and now new names have started joining it while preparations around Border 2 are in full swing. There were a lot of rumors doing rounds and finally, the news about Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty debuting was confirmed. Sunny Deol himself welcomed Ahan to the Border 2 cast, sharing a post on social media. Ahan made his debut along with Tara Sutaria in Tadap, and this is his second film.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Sunny wrote, “Welcome soldier Ahan Shetty to the battalion of the film Border 2″ he captioned along with the teaser video. The teaser includes the powerful message, “What the enemy cannot cross is neither a line, wall, nor a ditch. Then what is this? Just a soldier and his brother.”
Ahan Shetty also shared his excitement on Instagram, expressing, “Border is more than just a film—it’s a legacy and an emotion. A dream has come true.” He reflected on how his connection to Border began 29 years ago when his mother was pregnant, visiting his father on set. He added, “I grew up listening to the great stories of OP Dutta and holding JP’s uncle’s hand, which shaped my love for cinema and the Indian Armed Forces.”
The sequel, Border 2 with Sunny Deol leading the cast is once again making news. Apart from Ahan Shetty, the movie also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan who was one of the first actors to sign up for the film.
Border 2, written by Nidhi Dutta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta regularised back to the initial experiences in mogra battyana will be directed by Anurag Singh. The movie is expected to be shot in the same settings as Battle of Longewala and will go on the floors in October this year. The currently untitled film will be released on January 23, 2026.
