During the second edition of the Joytown festival held in Mumbai, BMW India introduced the 740i M Sport and i7 xDrive60 in January 2023, thus offering both a petrol and fully electric version of their flagship 7 Series sedan. Now, BMW is expanding the 7 Series range by introducing the 740d M Sport diesel variant and a more potent i7 M70 xDrive fully electric variant.

The All-New BMW i7 M70 xDrive

The BMW i7 M70 xDrive, priced at ₹2.5 Crores (ex-showroom), is BMW’s most powerful fully electric vehicle. It is equipped with a 101.7 kWh battery pack that powers dual motors, delivering a combined output of 660 bhp peak power and an impressive 1,100 Nm peak torque. This translates to a rapid 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.6 seconds, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h. BMW boasts a range of 560 km (WLTP) and provides a 22 kW complementary wall box charger.

740d M Sport

The i7 M70 xDrive comes with dual-tone paintwork as standard, and customers have the option to choose their preferred paintwork shades online through BMW Visualiser. They can also select between Black Sapphire or Oxide Grey roof paintwork. Interior choices for the i7 M70 include BMW Individual Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery in various shades, including Amarone, Tartufo, Mocha, Black, and Smoke White, with the added option of Cashmere Wool combination choices.

The exterior of the i7 M70 xDrive features a “powerfully expressive” design, BMW Swarovski Crystal Headlights, an illuminated BMW kidney grille, M logo, M sport brakes with blue calipers, an M rear spoiler, and 21-inch M light-alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, BMW elevates rear seat entertainment with a remarkable 31.3-inch touch-enabled 8K Theatre Screen and a powerful 1,965W 36-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond sound system. Additional features include window blinds, automatic door operation, executive lounge seating, configurable seating modes, BMW OS 8.5, BMW ConnectedDrive, Executive Drive Pro, and an array of extensive driver assistance systems.

Everything You Need to Know about the BMW 740d M Sport

The BMW 740d M Sport, priced at ₹1.81 Crores (ex-showroom), is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder diesel engine employing BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine produces 286 bhp of peak power and 650 Nm of peak torque, enabling a brisk 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6 seconds. It achieves a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically limited. The engine is coupled with a 48V mild hybrid system featuring a 200 Nm and 18 bhp electric motor.

The 740d M Sport offers four distinct color options: Oxide Grey, Mineral White, Black Sapphire, and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue. Inside the cabin, the 740d M Sport comes with BMW Individual Leather ‘Merino’ upholstery available in a variety of colors, including Amarone, Tartufo, Mocha, Black, and Smoke White.

These new additions to the BMW 7 Series lineup aim to provide a diverse range of choices, catering to customer preferences and the growing demand for the 7 Series in the Indian market. The 7 Series, being the preferred vehicle for leaders and luminaries, combines style, substance, and cutting-edge features.
