Portland Trail Blazers center has a bad history when it comes to injuries. Portland’s big man had missed most of the 2019-2020 season recovering from a horrifying injury of a broken leg.

The 7 feet center entered this season healthy. Only 12 games into the 2020-2021 season, Nurkic suffered a major setback as he left Portland’s game on Thursday, against the Indiana Pacers. The team announced that Nurkic had a fractured right wrist.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Nurkic will be forced to undergo surgery on the wrist. He is expected to mid at least eight weeks of the game.

Nurkic’s injury occurred in the third quarter. Jusuf Nurkic took a swipe at the ball as Malcom Brogdon (Indiana’s guard) drove to the basket, and then Myles Turner (Indiana’s center) attempted to dunk the ball, Nurkic contested with the wrist before falling to the floor in seriousness.

As of now, the Trail Blazers haven’t given out a definitive timetable for his broken wrist. It all depends on the severity of the injury depending on both – the type of fracture and where it occurred. Jusuf Nurkic was averaging 9.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the 7-5 Portland Trail Blazers.

Blazers are now left with only Harry Giles and Enes Kanter as the two options for center as Zach Collins too is out with ankle surgery and hasn’t played in this season yet.
