IPL 2020 is all set to start from 19th September in UAE. After major hurdles, BCCI has been able to plan the tournament and as things stand now, things look good for witnessing a great T-20 tournament.
Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT) is a leading off-highway tyre manufacturer. The company has signed sponsorship deals with 6 IPL teams for the upcoming season of IPL.
The company said on Monday: “BKT loves sport and it shows! We will partner with six cricket teams of the T-20 League in the upcoming season.”
The 6 IPL teams which have BKT as their ‘Official Partner’ are:
- Chennai Super Kings
- Delhi Capitals
- Kings XI Punjab
- Kolkata Knight Riders
- Mumbai Indians
- Rajasthan Royals

Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director of BKT said: “Cricket is a very popular sport in India. Everyone loves the game, and we at BKT are unstoppable when it is about sport. We are pleased and excited to be a part of an event that is much followed in our home country. We are a keen supporter of several national sports all around the globe, but it fills me with immense pleasure that we are now supporting such a significant sporting event of India.”.
BKT has already been promoting cricket by supporting the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) based on an agreement with Cricket Australia.
In the past, as well BKT had supported various sports in India such as Kabbadi. They had sponsorship deals with 8 out of the 12 teams of the Pro Kabaddi League.
A statement from BKT read: “All sports events are selected based on a precise strategy aiming at greater user proximity and increased brand awareness, assisted by IMG Reliance, the exclusive sports consulting agency for BKT in India.”.
So we will be witnessing the same logo on all the 6 IPL team shirts in the upcoming season.
