BioWare recently announced that a new entry in their acclaimed Mass Effect game is currently in development. The announcement was revealed earlier than intended, as reported by the sources. But the details are minimal as of now. Nonetheless, it’s still great to hear that a new Mass Effect is coming. The series was earlier put on hiatus following the release of Mass Effect Andromeda.
The Mass Effect: The developers also reveal the legendary Edition. Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include single-player base content. It will come with DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, promo weapons, armours, and packs. All of this will be remastered and optimized for 4k Ultra HD. It will be launched in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with forwarding compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Mass Effect Andromeda was supposed to be a highly superior game. But the development team failed to meet the user’s expectations. Combat is the best thing that the series offered. But the story, characters, and exploration provided in the game can be hard to digest. The game is not bad; it has terrible writing, horrible animations, and wasteful design choices.
The new Mass Effect game, which is now in development, is yet to confirm its supported platforms. As to whether the match will wash away the disappointment created by andromeda remains to be seen. But with the company putting its veteran developers behind the project, it keeps much to be desired. Whether the game will be acceptable for modern thrill-seekers remains to be seen. Till then, stay tuned.
