Las Vegas-based Bill Foley has completed a takeover of Bournemouth, with the consortium also comprising Black Panther and Creed actor Michael B Jordan and Nullah Sarker.

The deal is worth £100 million, and makes the club the latest to have American owners. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Fulham, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace are the other teams in the Premier League to have American owners.

Bournemouth’s American takeover finally complete

Foley’s partnership firm, Black Knight FC, has purchased a 100% stake in the club from previous owner Max Denim. And the deal has been given the green light by the league after strict tests surrounding their competency. Foley also owns ice hockey team Vegas Golden Knights, but this is the first time that he is diving into the realm of football.

“I have tremendous respect for the passion and support the Bournemouth community shows for this club and believe that connection to the community is the foundation for success of any sports team,” he said in a statement.

“We will move forward with an ‘always advance, never retreat’ approach that has defined all of my endeavours. I am committed to work with the best football and business minds available to enhance player development, facilities, and the fan experience to put AFC Bournemouth in the best possible position to succeed.”

There are plans to expand the Vitality Stadium, and improve on the club’s training ground facilities following the takeover. With the January transfer window approaching, the club is also expected to spend some money in the transfer window to help them stay afloat in the top flight.
