Bagga, who ran in the 2020 Delhi Assembly election, is well known for his controversial and outspoken political stance. Tajinder disclosed in the first episode that he became a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of four and was incarcerated for the first time at the age of fourteen.

BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga:

Born in 1985 in New Delhi, Bagga has become a significant figure in the Delhi BJP’s youth wing, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), where he has constantly taken strong stands on national issues.

Bagga originally became well-known for his direct action initiatives while working as a political activist. Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena is an organisation he co-founded with the objective of opposing what its members perceive to be ‘anti-national forces’. The organization gained notoriety for adopting violent tactics, including physically accosting people after falsely accusing them of saying things that were “anti-Indian.”
Bagga’s name made national news in 2011 after he took credit for assaulting activist and lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who had advocated for a Kashmir referendum.

As A Part in the BJP

Bagga’s strong social media following assisted in drawing the BJP’s attention. He was one of the #Super150, a group of social media influencers that PM Modi invited to his official house in 2015 as part of the inauguration of Digital India. Bagga formally joined the BJP in 2017 and advanced fast through the youth wing’s ranks. His frequent postings of content on social media that criticizes opposition leaders and policies have helped him gain popularity among BJP followers. His posts frequently become viral, which broadens his appeal to party members.

Bagga participated in the 2020 Delhi Assembly election from the Hari Nagar seat, but she lost. He continued to actively participate in the BJP’s outreach and advocacy activities in spite of the defeat, regularly voicing his opinions on issues related to the political agenda of the party, Hindu nationalism, and national security.

TROUBLES AND CONTROVERSIES IN LAW

Over the course of his political career, Bagga has engaged in numerous legal disputes and scandals. He was briefly detained by Punjab Police in 2022 on suspicion of inciting others and making incendiary messages on social media. An AAP leader filed a complaint, alleging that Bagga intimidated Arvind Kejriwal during a protest, made provocative remarks, circulated rumors, and attempted to incite religious and communal animosity. This resulted to Bagga’s imprisonment.

Following his apprehension, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was accused of political vendetta by the BJP, sparking a political uproar. Later on, he was set free.

BUSINESS ASSETS

Apart from being a businessman, Bagga owns “T-Shirt Bhaiyya”, an online store that offers jewelry, home décor, kurtas, jackets, and illustrated T-shirts. In opposition to the majority of Muslims’ preference for halal meat, he has launched his next project, “Kulhad Biryani: India’s First Jhatka Biryani Brand”.
