Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad: Everything You Need to Know

The non-profit Bhartiya Anuvad Parishad was founded in 1965 and focuses on three key areas: employment, education, and art and culture. Delhi, Delhi is home to its main office. Dr. Gargi Gupta founded the nonprofit Bharatiya Anuvad Parishad in 1964.

Motivated by her, a group of youthful academics, professors, and students from Delhi University’s modern Indian languages department gathered informally to seek a shared forum to address their desire to have their translation expertise recognized more widely. In the sense that translation was viewed as a lowly occupation reserved for literary misfits back then, this undertaking was groundbreaking.

‘Anuvad’ is a quarterly journal on the art of translation published by the parishad. The bilingual publication attempts to use Hindi as a link between English, Hindi, and Bhasha while addressing intricate topics like language and politics, word meanings, and the growing demand for an Indian language identity separate from English.

Despite being an entirely unofficial organization, the Parishad has succeeded in uniting prominent academics, department heads, media professionals, and publishing executives into a community of like minds.

The Parishad has the distinct benefit of having linkages to academic institutions, government agencies, and commercial businesses all throughout the nation. In fact, it has served as a forum for translators from various regional streams in all of the major languages over the years.
