## What Is BGMI Air?

[BGMI](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlegrounds_Mobile_India) Air is a streamlined, lighter way to experience the world of BGMI. It keeps the core elements players know and love but lowers the barrier to entry, so more people can play regardless of how much storage their phone has. That matters in a country where many devices run low on space.

## Key Things to Know

- **Small download:** the initial size is around 1GB, far lighter than a typical battle royale install.
- **No account transfer:** existing BGMI players don’t need to move their accounts. They can play BGMI Air separately.
- **Open Beta soon:** KRAFTON will gather player feedback before launch and refine the experience.
- **Pre-registration:** it’s open to Android users in India through Google Play.

## Why 10 Million Matters?

Reaching 10 million pre-registrations before launch signals strong demand for a lighter BGMI, especially among players on budget or storage-constrained devices. It also builds on BGMI’s own scale: KRAFTON India says the flagship title has passed 260 million downloads.

## What Comes Next?

KRAFTON says it will share regular updates and content in the lead-up to launch through the official BGMI Air Instagram page and other channels. The company also describes its approach as feedback-driven, so the Open Beta could shape the final game.
