The final chapter of Miles Morales’ animated trilogy is almost here, and the first trailer is already packed with heroes, villains and multiversal chaos. Sony screened it behind closed doors at CinemaCon, and a breakdown of the footage reveals who’s getting the spotlight in the June 18, 2027 finale.

## The Opening Scene

The footage picks up right after the *Across the Spider-Verse* cliffhanger. Miles is stranded on Earth-42, a world with no Spider-Man, where the alternate Miles G. Morales chains him to a punching bag. Prime Miles explains canon events and begs to be released because his dad is going to die in two days. Nobody believes him, so he breaks free with a burst of electricity and recalls Peter B. Parker’s advice about watching the hands.

## Villains Taking Center Stage

Miles G. Morales gets the second-biggest spotlight, positioned as a major antagonist. Aaron Davis, on this Earth, is a loyal mentor to his nephew rather than the Prowler fans remember. Spider-Man 2099 appears relentless, with an entire gang and dozens of portals tearing across a city block. The Spot makes a brief but menacing appearance in an evolved, black-essence-bursting form, hinting he’s the trilogy’s ultimate threat.

## The Rescue Team

Gwen Stacy has made good on her promise, assembling a team to bring Miles home. Peter B. Parker appears and hands baby Mayday to Spider-Ham, the trailer’s funniest moment. Spider-Punk delivers a line questioning whether Miles will face everything alone, hinting at a team-up theme. Spider-Byte, Spider-Man India, Spider-Noir and Peni Parker also appear, many in a seven-way split-screen of universes. Kingpin and Rio Morales get only brief moments, though Rio’s line about Miles being strong, not tough, adds emotional weight.

## Why It Matters?

Jefferson Davis’ fate is the emotional core of the finale, with his death a canon event driving the plot. With at least 17 characters in just over four minutes, this finale looks ambitious and enormous.

## A Note on the Footage

The trailer hasn’t been released publicly. An unfinished version leaked online in August before Sony had it removed, so wait for the official release.
