Some films peak in week one and fade fast. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is doing the opposite — it just overtook Lokah Chapter One: Chandra to become the second highest-grossing [Malayalam cinema](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayalam_cinema) release in Kerala’s history, and it’s done it in just 19 days.

## Bethlehem Kudumba Unit: A Steady Climb, Not a One-Week Wonder

Starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, the film collected Rs. 2.75 crore on Day 19 (its third Tuesday) — a 15% dip from the previous day, which is normal for a weekday slot. What’s remarkable isn’t the single-day number, though; it’s the consistency of the overall run. The film has stayed strong across three full weekends without any dramatic collapse, pushing its Kerala gross to Rs. 123.50 crore.

## Why Overtaking Lokah Actually Matters

Lokah Chapter One: Chandra was one of the biggest Malayalam successes in recent memory, so surpassing its final tally in under three weeks is a genuine milestone, not just a headline number. It puts Bethlehem Kudumba Unit firmly in second place on Kerala’s all-time list, trailing only Vaazha 2 — and trade estimates suggest closing that gap won’t take much longer at the current pace.

## What’s Coming Next

With momentum still intact after three weekends, the film looks positioned to set a fresh benchmark for Malayalam box office runs rather than simply chase past records. If the current hold continues, dethroning the current No. 1 spot appears to be a matter of when, not if.
