Bengaluru FC extended their unbeaten streak to[8 games](https://technosports.co.in/2022/01/27/bengaluru-fc-3-0-chennaiyin-fc-3-pts/) in a row after ending Kerala Blasters’ streak of 10 games. They won the Southern derby 1-0, and here are the three talking points from the game between the two in form teams.

## Reset for Kerala Blasters

After putting in their best performances in recent weeks, [Kerala Blasters](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.indiansuperleague.com/news/no-regret-about-the-loss-looking-forward-right-now-kerala-blasters-fc-head-coach-ivan-vukomanovic&ved=2ahUKEwji2vHXidv1AhVVyzgGHaGKA3EQhlR6BAgNEAQ&usg=AOvVaw0XtW7gKIrgCWvNBjTy5yvI) were finally overcome by Bengaluru FC. They had the chance to go back to the top of the table, and extend their lead with a game in hand. However, three points lost in the derby means they no longer have that advantage and will have to battle it out even more closely.

## Roshan Naorem shines on both ends

> Roshan Naorem is named Hero of the Match for an enthralling performance at the back and a stellar free-kick which helped [@bengalurufc](https://twitter.com/bengalurufc?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) to a crucial win over [@KeralaBlasters](https://twitter.com/KeralaBlasters?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)! 💪🔵[#KBFCBFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/KBFCBFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#HeroISL](https://twitter.com/hashtag/HeroISL?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [#LetsFootball](https://twitter.com/hashtag/LetsFootball?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/qhLHmwPqKW](https://t.co/qhLHmwPqKW)

The Bengaluru FC left-back was named the Hero of the Match after putting in a remarkable performance both going forward, and defending. His stunning free-kick goal proved to be the difference maker in the game, and he also helped Bengaluru keep a clean sheet.

## Bengaluru FC break into the top four

After a disappointing first half of the season, Bengaluru FC have finally found their groove back. They have gone 8 matches without being beaten, and have 20 points from 14 games.

Although their direct competitors have games in hand, they will be favoured to compete for a playoff berth at this stage. And with their current run of form, they might just seal a playoff berth by the time their next six games are played.
