BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter to unveil the incentive scheme following India’s triumph in the recent IND vs ENG 5th Test. Under this scheme, Test cricketers in India will receive financial rewards on top of their match fees, with incentives structured to encourage greater participation and dedication to Test cricket.

  • Minimum Test Matches: Players featuring in a minimum of 7 or more Test matches in a season stand to earn an impressive sum of Rs 45 lakhs per match, showcasing the board’s recognition of their commitment to the red-ball format.
  • Moderate Participation: For cricketers selected in the squad for 5 or 6 Test matches, the incentive amounts to Rs 30 lakhs per match, providing a significant boost to those contributing consistently to the team’s success.
  • Encouraging Participation: Even players involved in 50% or more of the Test matches will receive incentives, with Rs 22.5 lakhs per match for those part of the playing XI and Rs 15 lakhs per match for those included in the squad.
