Eric Maxim Chuopo-Moting has been in remarkable form for Bayern Munich over the last few games. The striker has enjoyed a run in the starting line-up, and has found a scoring streak, with his latest goal coming against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
The 33-year-old scored an absolute rocket to make it six goals this season, after a set-up from Alphonso Davies in a central position.
Eric Maxim Chuopo-Moting: A revelation for Bayern Munich this season
Upon the departure of Robert Lewandowski, the goals were expected to dry up for Bayern Munich. Considering the impact the Polish striker had on the team, it was always going to be difficult to replace him.
And with Bayern Munich not choosing to sign another striker, it seemed like they were set for a quiet season. But the likes of Sadio Mane, Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry have taken up the goalscoring duties. The addition of Chuopo-Moting to that list has been a very positive one for the team.
They can now rely on a natural centre-forward to deliver, after a relatively quiet first couple of years with the German giants. The 33-year-old won the man of the match award for his showing last night.
And he is now expected to discuss a new contract with Die Roten since the club wants to keep him for the foreseeable future.
