The 17-year-old talented French forward Mathys Tel has signed a five-year deal for the German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich have spent €20 million on a fixed fee and €8.5 million in add-ons to transfer to Mathys Tel from the French club Rennes.
Tel has got the number 39 shirt at his new German club. Toni Kroos famously wore the number 39 shirt at the FCB.
Tel said on the official Bayern website, “FC Bayern are one of the best teams in the world. I’m very much looking forward to this great challenge and I will give my all for this club. I’ve been very impressed with the discussions with Hasan Salihamidzic and the FC Bayern management, and I quickly realised I definitely wanted to come to Munich.”
Tel has already started his training for his new club Bayern Munich.
Who is the new Bayern Munich youngster Mathys Tel?
In August 2021, Tel made his senior club career debut for Rennes. Making his Rennes’ senior team debut at the age of 16 years and 110 days, Tel became the youngest player in the history of Rennes. He appeared in 10 games (all as a late substitute player) for the senior Rennes side in the last season.
Though the youngster couldn’t put his name in direct goal involvement for the senior team due to lack of game timing (played just around 80 minutes in 10 games), he is a consistent performer for the youth sides. He scored six goals in six matches for the Rennes B team in the last season.
Tel has appeared in 15 games for the French youth sides (U17 and U18), where he scored ten goals. While France U17 recently won the UEFA U17 Euro 2022 title, Tel scored three goals and one assist for his youth national team.
The young French forward, Tel, is very fast as the defenders feel very hard to stop him. He has an incredible ability to put the ball on target, even with his regular shots from outside the box. The youngster is also good at free-kicks.
