Supporters of Bayern Munich have initiated a petition urging the club to keep Thomas Tuchel as their head coach for the upcoming season, expressing that other candidates do not measure up to the 50-year-old.
The petition, titled ‘We want Juppel (Tuchel) and not (Ralf) Rangnick!’, has amassed over 10,000 signatures since its launch on Tuesday on change.org.

Bayern Munich Fans Appeals Club To Keep Thomas Tuchel Ahead Of Next Season
Earlier this week, Austria’s head coach Rangnick confirmed ongoing discussions with Bayern regarding the possibility of replacing Tuchel. Previously, Bayer Leverkusen’s title-winning manager Xabi Alonso had been a frontrunner for the position, but he declared last month his decision to remain with his current club for the upcoming season. Additionally, Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann declined an offer to return to Bayern, opting to stay with the national team instead.
In February, Bayern announced Tuchel’s departure from the club at the end of the season following what they described as “constructive discussions” between CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Tuchel.
The petition stated that despite the negative media coverage surrounding him and the personnel situation with the injury-plagued Munich team, the Champions League winner had led his team to the semi-finals of the Champions League. It further mentioned that with all due respect to candidates like Aston Villa coach Unai Emery or Rangnick, those coaches couldn’t hold a candle to ‘Juppel’ (Tuchel).
Additionally, it suggested that considering the ‘Finale Dahoam’ (Champions League final at the Allianz Arena) would take place next season, Bayern Munich should actually be glad to have such an outstanding Champions League coach like TT (Tuchel).

Tuchel had initially signed a contract until the summer of 2025 when he took over as Bayern head coach in March 2023, succeeding Nagelsmann. Bayern secured the Bundesliga title on the final day of the previous season, benefitting from Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw with Mainz, allowing Bayern to surpass them in the standings.
This season, Bayern has trailed Alonso’s Leverkusen domestically and currently sits 14 points behind the champions with four matches left. However, they have advanced in the Champions League, defeating Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. Their next challenge in the competition is a semi-final clash against Real Madrid.
Tuchel’s coaching career has seen him manage teams such as Mainz, Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea before his tenure at Bayern.
Tuchel Stays Unswayed by Fan Petition, Remains Focused on Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has affirmed that he won’t let himself be swayed by a petition urging him to stay at the club. The petition, backed by over 12,000 supporters, calls for the 50-year-old to continue his tenure at the Allianz Arena.
“Even though this topic is good for me when they [the fans] wish you to stay, it’s not something that is a priority,” said Tuchel. “It isn’t allowed to be a priority. In the next 11 days it’s only about football, nothing else. Whether it’s pleasant or unpleasant, I don’t allow myself to be influenced by it.”
Tuchel emphasized that it’s the club’s responsibility to select his successor, and he has opted to tune out the speculation by metaphorically putting on “noise-cancelling headphones.
