RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich are preparing their final paperwork for the transfer of Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian will join the German club in the next few days once the final agreement has been reached between the two parties.

The fee for the midfielder is expected to be around €16 million. Personal terms have been agreed between Sabitzer and Bayern for a long time now, and the transfer will be official in the final days of the window.

Sabitzer was not considering any other proposal. He only wants Bayern.

Sabitzer is the captain of RB Leipzig, and has attracted interest from clubs like Tottenham due to his performances for the Red Bull club. But, the player was only holding out for a move to Bavaria and the German giants are now close to finalising the transfer of one of their long-term targets.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his physical capabilities and only has one year remaining on his current deal with Leipzig. As a result, Bayern have managed to get a bargain deal for the midfielder even though he is valued at €42 million, a great deal considering the quality of the player that they are getting.

Interestingly, Sabitzer could make his debut for Bayern against his former club Leipzig, since the two face off against each other on September 11 in the Bundesliga. Bayern’s new midfielder will have to work hard to establish himself ahead of Kimmich and Goretzka, but has a great rapport with Julian Nagelsmann from their time together at Leipzig and the coach could help get the best out of his long-time associate at their new club.
