Bayern Munich continued their Bundesliga campaign with a thrashing of VfL Bochum at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarians climbed back to the top of the Bundesliga table with a 7-0 victory at home after their 3-0 win against Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League.

The scoring opened courtesy of Leroy Sane in the 17th minute when the player scored a stunning free kick to beat Manuel Riemann. Ten minutes later, Joshua Kimmich doubled the lead of the defending champions after his shot took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net.

Serge Gnabry then got onto the scoresheet, scoring a goal from the right wing after beating his man from out wide. If that wasn’t enough to create pressure on the visitors, Vasilis Lampropoulos scored an own goal under pressure from Lewandowski to send them four goals behind at the end of the first half.

The Polish striker got his goal after the hour-mark, netting from close range. Joshua Kimmich would then score another goal to land his second career brace before Eric Chuopo-Moting nullified Manuel Riemann’s triple save by scoring Bayern’s seventh.

Even with ten minutes remaining on the clock and seven goals ahead of their opponents, Bayern showed no signs of slowing down. They remained on the attack and almost had an eighth goal courtesy of Thomas Muller. However, the strike was cancelled out by VAR since he was offside and the game ended with Bayern winning comfortably against their newly promoted opponents.
