The second half saw Granit Xhaka get on the scoresheet at the hour mark before Florian Wirtz made it 3-0 eight minutes later.

Wirtz scored again in the 83rd minute, finishing off a remarkable counter attack. The fans knocked down the barricade in the aftermath of the goal, showcasing their excitement for the crowning moment. Wirtz scored again in the 90th minute to complete his hat-trick, with fans invading the pitch in numbers this time. The fans emptied out onto the pitch and celebrations sparked as Die Werkself won the title.
Xabi Alonso’s side has claimed the title unbeaten, extending their streak to 43 games. Not only are they the winners of the Bundesliga, but they could also win the DFB Pokal, with the finals against Kaiserslautern set to be played on May 25.

They also have one foot in the semifinals of the Europa League, with a 2-0 advantage in the first leg of the quarter finals against West Ham United. Their chances of winning the competition are significant, as Liverpool are the clear favourites. However, they have the chance to end their trophy drought with a treble.
But for now, they are the Champions of Germany, and have ended Bayern’s decades-long hegemony.
